THAT LAST WEEK SURE WENT BY IN A HURRY, DIDN'T IT?
I am so sorry little blog, I did not mean to ignore you for a whole entire week without so much as a smug comment about the Oscars or a picture of some snide looking cats. It's just that last week? Was busy. And sometimes even if you really love someone, you need a little time apart, just to keep from beating them about the head.
We had a bit of a rough week last week, for reasons that I don't really want to get into here, on the (albeit very unlikely) off chance that the person who was... oh, I'll just say it.. the CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM reads Polka Dot Mittens. I don't think he does, on account of it has no redeeming educational or moral value (a fact that I am very proud of, and a reputation I work hard to maintain), but you know, it's a small internet after all. But let's just say on behalf of me, "THPPPPPPPTF!!!" in his general direction.
Also, my printer decided to become possessed by the devil himself on Thursday, which is just the sort of thing I generally expect from a Thursday.
But then we had a lovely perfect weekend, which made it all better. Or at least made most of it better... I think there's still a demon lurking in the black toner cartridge. Not the main man anymore, but someone. Maybe the guy who stokes the boiler.
On Saturday we had a lovely house full of guests for lunch, including the lovely and charming Mir (who you should go and read at once if you don't already) and the equally lovely and charming Liz, (who does not have a blog but we are leaning on her heavily to start one) and their lovely and charming families who were all very lovely and charming. And with everyone so lovely and charming, of course we had a very nice time, and all the food came out edible and nobody started yelling at anybody else during the meal and only one person got bitten. Which makes it officially better than any given family holiday I've ever had!
And then when everyone left, we looked at each other, and we looked at the house, and we decided that we had NO IDEA what to do with ourselves because the house was clean. Which is our usual fallback weekend plan. So Jason ran downstairs into the garage to build more jigs, and I played my new X-Box game. (Remind me to tell y'all about this game - it's hilarious and I love it to death, and I am not even a game person.)
Jason has now built approximately three hundred and twelve "jigs" which are supposed to contribute in some way to the completion of our kitchen cabinet doors. At least that is what he says when he emerges from an afternoon down in his shop with no visibile cabinet doors on his person after purportedly going down there "to finish the doors." Lots of woodworking noise, no cabinet doors.
I think he is secretly down there doing calculus with the table saw running.

One of the dogs bit me while I was slipping them some ham. Not like, bit-bit, but more like too-excited-to-tell-what-was-finger-and-what-was-hame bit.
Prompting a number of biting the ham that feeds you jokes, which was more painful than the actual bite.

I remember biting into a lovely and charming piece of ham, but honestly, I don't remember any other kind of biting.

Ummmm, wait. Who got bitten? And by what (whom)??
I didn't bite anyone. That I remember, anyway.
