WE LIKE IT. WE REALLY LIKE IT.

The cranberry relish, aka, Thing Number Three, turned out to be an interesting experiment.

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking "ooh.. that doesn't sound very good, an 'interesting experiment.' That's like the food equivalent of saying somebody has a great personality." Which is not true - I would totally call it again... I mean, make it again. I don't know that I'd replace the good old can-shaped blob of Ocean Spray with that delightful tin taste with this stuff, but I probably would make it instead of cole slaw.

My family always made cole slaw for Thanksgiving. I have since learned that this is not a traditional holiday food in most households. Who knew? Next thing you'll be telling me that not everybody has pumpkin pie for breakfast the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Weirdos.

P-SHAW! I eat pumpkin pie for breakfast, lunch and dinner for as long as I can get away with it after Thanksgiving. YUM.

What I simply don't get is Green Bean Casserole for Thanksgiving - I mean, according to Campbell's, it just isn't a holiday without that dish!

Also, you know what IS gross? Cranberry Blueberry juice. Blech.

We have potato salad each year. So, you're odd to us spud folk. :P

Is it time for someone close to us to win the lottery?

We have coleslaw every year. I don't think it's that weird.

What I don't get is the whole holiday-on-a-Thursday thing. Why not attach it to a weekend?

Pumpkin pie is the very best day-after-Thanksgiving breakfast! It has a vegetable in it, so it is healthy. Or so my grandmother would say.

My friend made a relish with fresh cranberries, tart apples, pineapple & cherry jell-o powder. It absolutely rocked, and my hubby kept trying to figure out how to make it into an alcoholic DRINK. I don't know what his deal was, but we both loved it & are getting the recipe. Will share if you like! :) I always wondered about that onion/cranberry slaw of Susan's......
